Nepotism is always bad for business. In my last job, a new manager was hired simply because he was another manager's daughter's boyfriend. This person didn't have a clue as to what the work entailed. But after Covid layoffs, even though he was the last hired, he survived the cut over other long time employees. He was in good with the gatekeepers.
