In my last job, the white management was so intimidated by the African-American women in the department, who had led emotional discussions about their feelings about the George Floyd killing, that they laid off every single one of them when given the chance. Mind you, the international firm that I am talking about was encouraging all of us to speak up honestly about the Black Lives Matter protests that took place last summer. These mid-level managers were never questioned about their true motives for letting go all of these Black women.
