If it wasn't for the progressive Democrats of the 20th century the US would have stayed in the dark ages for all eternity. Too many Americans take the Democrats for granted; thinking that many of our precious rights just magically appeared. In the contrary, it took a great deal of blood, sweat and perservearance to bring some common sense civility to this country.
