Good or bad layoffs are part of corporate culture. If an executive is trusted to make the fairest decision possible as to who gets laid off, then the blow of losing one’s job is more bearable. It’s those managers who are not objective and use lay offs as a way to be vindictive, petty and even racist, who make the experience that much worse.
