A good friend of mine once confided in me that an HR Director in the company we both worked for, had made some very racist comments against Black people to him at social gatherings outside of work. Here was a person who had a very important role in this organization making daily decisions that had grave consequences for so many people – hiring, promotions, raises, HR investigations, etc. I immediately wondered how many Black people were negatively affected because of this HR Director’s racism.

This happens much more than what people realize.
