When I worked at UPS many years ago, I supervised a diverse group of young workers, and a couple of the White employees made it be known that they weren't going to work hard for a Latino boss. I worked with them repeatedly, notified HR about my efforts, and got my manager involved. Low and behold they finally came around after their jobs were on the line because of their racist attitudes. Your and my experiences are very real scenarios that POC face in the workplace every day.

These CDO’s have no real power. I worked at a place recently, where the director of my department let go all the African American women on his team in one fell swoop during COVID layoffs. This firm had a CDO, but nothing was said or done about this racist mid-level…
